Fraters,
Hope all is well with all of
you!
I wanted to give you an update
on our EH Building Project. You
may recall that we had been
developing a property that would
be used as a temporary location
for TKE at Southwestern. Stan
Garrison has given us the
opportunity to "trade" this
location for an undeveloped lot
just North of campus (walking
distance). Additionally, Stan
has offered to sell us a second
lot for $30K. I have attached a
file to this message that shows
the Platt for the property. Our
property would be all of lot #8.
Once the streets and utilities
are developed, this property
will appraise in excess of
$100K. (Thank you Stan
Garrison!)
We will be presenting a proposal
to the EH Board of Advisors for
official approval in September.
This proposal will include Phase
1 plans to build an eight unit
apartment building along with a
meeting/recreation building as
soon as possible. Phase 2 would
be to build a second eight unit
apartment building (based on
need).
Stan estimates that it will take
approximately 12 months to get
the property developed before
construction can begin.
I will be developing a
fundraising program called "$10
For 10 Years". In a nut shell,
the apartments will easily pay
for themselves (given interest
rates today). However, the
alumni will need to pay for the
recreation/meeting building
("The Garrison") at an estimated
cost of $100K. Currently we have
$420/mo pledged for 10 years,
with a goal of at least
$1000/mo. for 10 years.
Tom Pearson has accepted the job
of being the Treasurer for the
EH Building Project. We will be
posting a formal proposal after
the Board meeting in September,
that will include full details
of the project. Additionally, we
will offer a couple of methods
to (Pay Pal, direct
deposit)contribute to the
project.
However, should you be so moved
to announce your intentions to
participate, you can do that
NOW!! (Note: Not tax deductable)
It is our goal to leave an
amazing TKE legacy at
Southwestern Oklahoma State
University, and we need your
help to make this happen. The
active members are certainly
doing their part. Just today it
was announced that EH is in the
top 17 TKE chapters nationally,
and in contention for top TKE
chapter for 2012!
YITB,
Dave Madison- EH377
